Most of the time these errors are caused by common user mistakes try our troubleshooting guide to see if the problem can be resolved without contacting support.
This software is the easiest to use in its class but we understand if you've never used an LED sign before some things might be hard to find click here to watch a video on how to use the software!
This is remote desktop software for a sign specialists to help with troubleshooting a sign.
Every customer we've had absolutely loves their EMC and to be honest its really hard to not like it, you can show all the information needed for nearby visitors or tourists with just one sign, its basically unlimited signage in one unit.
Our EMC installers just don't have enough time to explain every trick the software has to offer, so we dedicated a page to help you out to the best of our ability.
Over the years of using EMC products we started to develop a sense of what works great and what works better and at times these small tricks can drive traffic upwards of 50%
Tip 1: Updating in real time or preparing for the future using scheduled slides.
In terms of updating in "real time" we've noticed this helps when you're always having a prepared slide ready to send when an event happens or a certain weather pattern takes place, for example if you own a restaurant with an EMC and you checked the weather this morning and its going to be freezing, advertise warmer foods/beverages that day, or have a special for hot coca, this alone could bring in a customer who could also now be a future customer for years to come.
Tip 2: Keeping up with nearby events and having your business do something for it or for someone who was apart of it.
If the nearby highschool has a football game and they end up winning, offer or applaud the highschool via your sign, we've noticed that keeping up with current events really shows your company's care for the community around it and again bring in some more traffic, remember the community that comes into your company is well aware of what's around them as well this can give off a very welcoming feeling for new customers.
Tip 3: Keeping video animations and none information related visuals short
EMC's are such cool tech and we understand animations and videos look great but we've noticed that some signage will have a 15 - 45 second video animations at times, this is not ideal for the average customer driving by, take into consideration of the road your business is on the speed limit is crucial and if you can corelate your slide times with how fast or slow your customer would be going by your business this could help get the message to more people at a faster rate.
Average slide times we recommend for the best results, 2 - 3.5 seconds about the average duration of a galleries slide show on a website.
Tip 4: separating long text to make it faster to read for the viewer & utilizing cliff hangers
For example instead of having one slide read "we have coffee & donuts on sale Wednesday, January 5th spread this out between multiple fast moving slides possibly with different backgrounds or borders to draw attention, from our past experience, users who see long lengths of texts tend to stop reading due to driving or look away right when they see it. But leaving a cliff hanger on the end of each slide keeps the reader more safe and helps get the message to you future customers as safe as possible without distracting the driver.
Slide 1 "Coffee & Donuts" Duration: 1.5 seconds
Slide 2 "On Sale January 5th!" Duration 1.5 seconds
This helps get the message to people nearby and if they miss the first slide but see "On Sale January 5th!" they're going to wonder what's for sale on January 5th and look on the way back or next time they come through the area.
Tip 5: Time & Date
Adding the time and date to your sign is very helpful and keep in mind that some people who drive past your sign are commuting daily to and from work, so they might always take this same route home, overall this method is helpful and shows the capability's of your new EMC to future costumers drawing in more attention to your property and wanting to see what it is and what you have to offer, especially if they never noticed it before.
Tip 6: Night time advertising
We all know that your EMC is perfectly visible in the day time, but when it comes to viewing the EMC at night the same image can be almost double in brightness utilize this and take advantage of fancy borders and moving graphics to draw attention to your sign, being more vibrant and colorful at night without blinding or disrupting the drivers view can help and get your business more noticeable and encourage them to check it out at a later date.
Tip 7: Using the countdown timer and timed slides
We know this might be kinda odd but countdown timers draw attention sometimes more than actual slides these timers can be set from minutes, hours, days, months etc and using these for a breif slide draws in lots of attention, everyone wants to know why its counting down live and for what? even for a holiday or a celebration timers are overall something people turn heads to we recommended using a timer before you share the information of what's important
EMC Diagnosis over the internet using a wonderful tool called "remote desktop"
our technician can view your desktop over the internet to diagnose problems and see whether it would be necessary to bring somebody to diagnose the issue even further, over 75% of problems have been fixed using this method and it also helps get your signage back up and running even faster without the hassle of waiting for your technician appointment.
All you have to do is download this software, the software does not install on your computer unless you want it too, this software will only run temporarily one time so we can fix the issue and you'll have no added software or extra programs to deal with.
Most of the time, issues are not caused by the sign or the sign software, often times signs can stop working due to operating system changes, program installation, driver installation, automatic updates, powering the computer on/off etc (Microsoft/Windows, Updates frequently and sometimes the change is enough to change software)
Often times this issue can be caused by a simple operating system issue, unplug the ethernet adapter hooked to the computer via USB port and plug it back in, this will cause the operating system to re-read the component and install a driver if necessary. (please do not unplug any other cables or equipment only the USB on the ethernet cable adapter)
Step 2: close and reopen the LED Sign software, this will force the software to re-read your components and properly understand them.
Step 3: Try connecting to your sign if the same problem persists you'll need to give us a call and have a technician diagnose the issue for you.
